Women's Aquatic Therapy and Exercise

Enjoy exercise and rehabilitation in a shallow-water heated pool with depth of 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 feet and in a salt water spa of 104 degrees. 


Aquatics is an effective mode of exercise and shallow-water exercise as an appropriate alternative for land-based rehabilitation and as a viable mode for cross training. The evidence-based research shows shallow-water:


  • Provides benefits for all fitness levels
  • Decreases pain and inflammation while continuing to keep exercise program
  • Less impact on joints, especially knees, hips and ankles 
  • Buoyancy in the water allows for joint access, muscle lengthening and organ toning
  • Allows for proper alignment and control of movements  
  • Positively influences cardiorespiratory fitness levels
  • Improves dysfunctional breathing patterns
  • Increases muscular strength and endurance
  • Improves Flexibility, range of motion, balance and coordination 
  • Assists in weight loss and burning calories with less perceived effort

  • By improving balance issues, confidence and awareness are improved
  • Strengthens pelvic floor and deep core muscles
  • Practice can be enhanced with pool props such as noodles, floats
